VM Group team members were this weekend recognised for their commitment to excellence and for championing a winning mindset within the organisation, at the company’s I AM VM Awards ceremony.
The annual awards ceremony was held on Saturday (April 27) at the AC Hotel by Marriott under the theme: ‘One Night in Paris’, a take on the Paris experience for Jamaican athletes at the upcoming Olympics. The awards ceremony saw VM’s brightest stars from across the group, including VM Building Society, VM Investments and Wealth Management Ltd, VM Innovations, VM Pensions Management, VM Money Transfer Limited, VM Property Services, VM Finance Limited and VM Foundation being awarded for their efforts in 2023.
Courtney Campbell, Group President & CEO, in commending the commitment to excellence by the awardees, said the winners have demonstrated a willingness to own their excellence and execute like experts.
“When we own our Excellence, we will as individuals have purpose-driven aspirations. Like the Olympic champions, we have to be driven by high ambitions. We will be driven to have a positive impact on people – fellow Team Members, Members and clients of the VM Group, people in the communities that we serve,” he said.
Coming out as the top awardee of the evening was Jody-Ann Smikle, Innovation Quality Analyst, who copped the President’s Award. This prestigious honor is reserved for an outstanding member of the VM Team, who has served for longer than one year and has consistently distinguished him or herself as a true VM Ambassador. This recipient personifies excellence, commitment to service, contagious positivity, and exemplary leadership.
The Rookie of the Year award was presented to Renick McKay of the Member Engagement Centre, who in his first year on the job has demonstrated incredible enthusiasm in his delivery of results and care in his engagement with VM’s customers.
The night also saw realtors Kathleen O’Sullivan and Elaine Roache being inducted into the President’s Circle, an elite group of top sales performers. Keri-Gaye Brown, Group Chief Legal Compliance and Risk Officer and Corporate Secretary was presented with the Senior Leadership Award and Faithline Campbell, Branch Manager, VMBS Montego Bay, took home the Manager of the Year award.
The evening of celebration was heightened by performances of French classics by the Emily and Friends orchestra serenading the team as they walked the red carpet, as well by performances by King Diel, Janae McLymont and the VM Chorale.
